Germany-based Analog Audio GmbH will distribute full line of Lauten Audio microphones

Santa Clara, CA, January 14, 2008 – Lauten Audio, a high-end microphone maker, has announced a new distribution agreement with Germany-based Analog Audio GmbH. Under the terms of the agreement, Analog Audio GmbH will serve as the sole distributor in Germany for the Santa Clara, California-based company’s entire microphone line, including their highly successful Horizon tube microphone and three new models. The entire microphone line will be on display at the 2008 Winter NAMM show in booth #6983.

"Being introduced to Lauten Audio at the AES 2007 show in New York we immediately saw the potential in the Horizon tube microphone and the three new models,” says Peter Brigel, Sales Director for Analog Audio. “Lauten Audio microphones not only fit perfectly into our portfolio of high-end professional audio products, they also have great potential to fill a gap in the mid-price market."

Lauten Audio’s first commercially available product, the Horizon tube microphone, is a hand crafted boutique quality microphone that has proven to be a must-have for many recordists. Lauten Audio’s new microphones include the FC-357, the ST-221, and the LT-381. The FC-357 is a solid-state multi-pattern large diaphragm condenser microphone, designed for recordists looking for very clean and natural sound reproduction. The ST-221 is a small diaphragm tube microphone that will be packaged in pairs. The ST-221 combines the characteristics of the small diaphragm and the tube, making it an ideal choice for recording instruments. Finally, the highly anticipated LT-381 features a newly designed large dual-diaphragm capsule, new-old-stock military grade pentode input and triode output circuit, and variable omni, cardioid and figure-8 polar patterns. The LT-381 is designed to be a high-performance vocal microphone that produces incredibly full and detailed recordings.

LAUTEN AUDIO WELCOMES DR. CHARLES CHEN AS CHIEF ENGINEER OF MICROPHONES

Dr. Chen brings 25 years of engineering and research experience to the company

SANTA CLARA, CA, January, 7 2008 – Lauten Audio is pleased to announce that Dr. Charles Chen has joined the company as Chief Engineer. Dr. Chen will be responsible for Lauten Audio's microphone engineering and design. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company, including ten years of hands-on experience in electronics and circuitry design as a product development engineer of radio receivers and speakers.

Dr. Chen holds a BS degree in Physics and Masters and Ph.D. degrees with focus on aerodynamics and computer simulation from a top university in the Netherlands. With his academic background and experience, he has been able to apply Physics theorems to improve capsule and circuitry designs in microphones. He is intimately familiar with the latest research in Acoustic theory, and developed a capsule simulation model that has proven to be invaluable in the development of high-quality capsules. Dr. Chen has also been working on a revolutionary microphone testing system that links qualitative observations from hearing tests to quantitative physical properties and attributes.

LAUTEN AUDIO HORIZON ON SALLY JAYE - AMARILLO

Today we are shining light on another project that used Lauten Audio microphones.

Sally Jaye recently released her first full length record titled “Amarillo”. Sally Jaye originally comes from the south and now resides in Los Angeles. I have had the opportunity to see her live and can tell you she’s just as impressive live as she is on Amarillo. The album was produced by Will Holden, engineered and mixed by Mike Terry who’s credits include; Foo Fighters, Eagles and Jessica Simpson to name a few and mastered by Gavin Lurrsen of Lurrsen Mastering. Impressed with the Horizon Tube Microphone

Below is an actual email from a recent Horizon tube microphone user.

"I just wanted to share how impressed I am with your Horizon mic. I had a client who was looking for a mic for his personal studio and having a fairly extensive collection he came along and we borrowed a few others from other studios including a Horizon from Aki at Eastern Acoustics.

After whittling it down to 3 possibles from 10 in all cases in a blind test the Horizon rose to the top beating out mics 5 times the price, needless to say my client took it from Aki.

Horizon Tube Microphone at Slack Key Studio

We wanted to report on recent end user activity with the Horizon tube microphone. Slack Key Studio and its Owner/Operator Randy Kohrs (pictured right) recently acquired a Horizon and have been putting it through its paces.

Randy sent some pictures and tells us they have been using it on everything from Acoustic guitar, vocals, dobro and fiddle. Randy says " The Horizon is getting great reviews from everyone who uses it! ". Thanks Randy and we appreciate you giving it a shot and discovering the many great uses for the Horizon.

Some of Slack Key Studio's recent clients who used the Horizon on their sessions include; Jim Lauderdale (pictured left) for vocals on his upcoming bluegrass CD.

Shawn Camp, (pictured right) on acoustic guitar who co-wrote a song on Jim's CD. Shawn has had songs recorded by everyone from Garth Brooks to Josh Turners "Would you go with me".

Aaron Till (pictured left) used the Horizon on a fiddle.
